Welcome to my blog

Welcome to my blog

Hello!

My name is Amanda.

What better way to cherish life’s sweetness than through travel? Reliving my first trip to Italy with my family back in 2011 made me think of one thing in particular…My family would grab gelato and eat it on the go. So, Grab Gelato & Go was born.

I want my blog to be my window to the world and give glimpses of the travel experiences I have since moving abroad. (My husband, Andrew, and I recently moved from the USA to Germany.)

Because of the move, I have been given this so longed for year of free time in Germany to travel. How do I do it justice? I am using this blog as a way to hold myself accountable to accomplish what I told myself I would.

  • Travel often
  • Exercise more
  • Eat healthier
  • Find peace & forgive myself for past mistakes
  • Read more books, including some that teach me a new skill

What should I add to my list to accomplish during my “1 year of anything”?

A little about me: I spent the last few years working as a Registered Nurse in oncology, mother/baby, and the NICU. Working with the vulnerable populations from birth to death has given me perspectives on life that I never thought I would have. It only made me want to appreciate the Earth’s beauty even more–whether that be in nature or in interacting with new cultures, new people. I am obsessed with my pets. I try really hard to like cooking. My husband and I got married in January of 2023 in St. John USVI because we love it there. Through it all, God is first.

With every adventure, we discover the sweetness of life in its purest form. Travel is about creating memories and connections that will last a lifetime. I hope you can use my itineraries and stories of the places I have visited to create your own adventures to the majestic mountains and tranquil beaches that this sweet-as-gelato life has to offer.

Don’t hesitate to reach out to me!

Thank you for being here.
